National Doctors’ Day is March 30
Join FCHS in celebrating medical providers here at home and across the nation.
If there is one thing the past year has taught us, it is how much we rely on our physicians to keep us healthy. The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly changed the way many in America and around the world view doctors’ work.
Doctors are healthcare professionals without a doubt a cornerstone of any community’s healthcare, including here at home in Jack County. That is why Faith Community Health System (FCHS) is joining a nationwide appreciation campaign showing support for all of our healthcare medical providers by celebrating National Doctors’ Day on March 30.
Doctors’ Day was first observed in 1933 when Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, proposed a celebration to show appreciation for physicians’ work and their role in saving lives. Eudora was inspired by the anniversary of the first use of anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long in 1842.
The U.S. House of Representatives passed a resolution in 1958 commemorating the special day. With Congress’s approval in 1990, President George H.W. Bush signed a declaration that officially designated March 30 as National Doctors’ Day.
FCHS has had a long history of serving the community. Tracing its roots back to the late 1950s, the regional healthcare provider has remained resilient by continually growing to meet local medical needs. In addition to family practice, physicians offer medical services in a variety of specialties at the hospital and four rural health clinics in Jacksboro, Bowie, Alvord, and Graham.
Focusing on the healthcare needs of the community continues to be a priority. That is why FCHS continually monitors local health trends for physician recruitment.
A highly trained team of physicians serves the community all year long in a comprehensive breadth of medical specialties. Join in showing appreciation for these essential health care providers:
