Obituary for Marion Faye Lewis
Marion Faye Lewis, 63, of Jacksboro, Texas went to be with our Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 2, 2021. She was born on February 26, 1957 in Jacksboro, Texas to Burke David Lewis Jr. and Lee Marion (Fitzpatrick) Lewis.
Faye graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1975. She started working for Faith Community Hospital in 1992 where she worked as an Administrative Assistant. She was loved by so many patients along with coworkers. “Code Sunshine” is what she was best known for at Faith Community Hospital and she will be missed by all that walk through those doors. Throughout her life, Faye was very involved in her community. She was on the Jacksboro City Council from 2008-2013, member of the the Faith Community Hospital Auxiliary for over 30 years and a lover of all Jacksboro athletic events. Above all else, Faye’s love for our Lord was undeniable. She loved the Lord relentlessly and fiercely. She shared her knowledge and love for Jesus by leading a ladies’ Bible study at our local prison. Faye was a member of Christian Mission where she sang in the praise band many times. She had a true voice of an angel. In January 2020, Faye was able to a take trip of a lifetime to Israel with fellow church members. After a long battle with cancer, Faye is now in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ with a new and healed body and greeted with, “well done my good and faithful servant.”
Faye is preceded in death by her parents; nephew, Roland Lewis, and aunt Genevea Flowers.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Nik Lewis and wife Alison, and Keely Howard; sisters, Rosie Lewis and Fina Esparza; brother, Sammy Lewis; grandchildren, Kaleem, Aurelia, Madison, Kealan, Isaac and Hudson; nieces, Kaylea and Edrena; nephews, Myron Lewis, Tacoma Fontaine, Harris Esparza, Jimmy Lee Hicks, Jaylon Clay and Darion Lewis; along with other extended family and countless friends.

When I would ask about her family she would light up even more and do a little bragging. She loved her family and friends and shared her love for the Lord in her words and actions. I will miss her.”

Dawn Jones: “I personally think she will be missed greatly – she was always such a ray of sunshine – always had a smile on her face even while she was in extreme pain and bad health herself. She was always upbeat and spilling over with joy. One in a million.”
Faith Hamblin: “There is not enough words to describe Marion Faye Lewis. She was a beautiful soul that loved and cared for so many in her live time. She was a one of kind person she touched so many lives and she loved everyone. I am proud to call myself one of her friends and will cherish every memory that we made together. I know myself she is resting in piece singing as one of the Angels above. Love you Faye Faye”

We are blessed to have had her in my life and had the joy to work with her. She sang at my father’s funeral and that meant so much to me-of course it was beautiful-as always! Rest in peace my friend! Jenell May: “Faye was family to me. From the time that Keely and my daughter Vickie fussed and fought every time they saw each other when they were in junior high. And Faye would have hair cutting parties at Vicky Tillery’s house and even the hospital’s software trainer Ken would come when he was down. OK people we are going back 20 years. Faye had a quote that she used all the time with us, “God will not lead you where his Grace cannot keep you.” Faye was my granddaughter Mercy’s Godmother and my great granddaughter Ever’s Godmother. Faye and Vicky and I used to make weekend trips to Mexico(no we didn’t do anything illegal) but we did have fun road trips- that was 20 years ago too!! Lee Marion and Burk treated me like one of their own and I loved them too. Faye did not mind me at all, she would not take care of herself. And one time Faith Hamblin and I went to where she was in the hospital to have a talk with her doctor!! Boy did we straighten him out. LOL Faye didn’t have a lot in material things but she had a lifetime of God, love laughter and song that she shared with everyone she met. You never knew all that Faye was doing. She worked with the City, the Church, the Hospital the school. And one of my best memories was after she messed her knee up doing boot camp! She took Mercy, me and her CANE to a Color Run in Fort Worth we had so much fun and what a mess. That’s not all or near enough Faye I love you admired you and always will.”
